2006 Report to Lake Alexander Property Owners
Lake Alexander was stocked with 2.5 million walleye
fry in the spring of 2005. Fall (September) electrofishing recorded another very
good catch of young-of-the-year walleyes. Jim Drill of Upsala came with and filmed
the night electrofishing. I can provide it to the lake association for viewing.
In 2006, fisheries will conduct a full lake survey
from August 14-18. As part of this survey we will be on the lake in May to assess
largemouth bass, in July to assess aquatic plants, and in August to do natural reproduction seining for young-of-the-year
fish.
In October or early November we will stock up
to 634 fingerling or 317 larger-size muskies.
If they are available to us in November, we will
stock up to 842 pounds of pre-spawn adult northern cisco (tullibee).
